An Unconscious character is considered Helpless. In addition, an Unconscious character may not take any actions during his or her turn in combat.
A character is entitled to a Recuperation check (DC 10) every minute to remove the Unconscious condition, with a Cumulative +1 for each failed attempt.
Sleeping characters are considered to be Unconscious. However, Immunity to sleep does not render a character immune to being knocked Unconscious.
